Narcissism

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJFLfHI8jUI&feature=related
YouTube's tagline is Broadcast Yourself, and that is exactly what YouTube users do without scruple or shame.  YouTube provides the perfect breeding ground for narcissism because it provides a space where people can sneak a peek into the lives of others from around the world.  I chose this particular video because this is a video about a woman filming herself watching another YouTube user who is watching yet another user. This online hall of mirrors leads, eventually, to a woman in Wausua, Wis, called Nornna.  So this whole chain of people are watching themselves watch other people shows how intricate and complicated the web of narcissism is.

  2. I am not sure but I viewed a few of her videos and she has no real purpose behind what she posts and proclaims that they are all awesome. I quote "my first awesome video, hopefully one of many awesome videos to come." This is a good find. -Charles Finklea

Great work Nick. I love the camera's following nature. Your work kept me thinking "how did he do that?!". You really capture a cold feeling, and rather mechanical, to the piece. Probably experimenting with monitors would of served good as well which, as you know, Nauman used in the Public/ Private space installation. R.T
