To Soothe A Frightened Girl /My Low-Fi Music

Here are some songs that I wrote. I usually videotaped the demo when I was writing the song, that's where a lot of those videos are from. And after a while I really started to make videos for the songs with my Sony T2 (Just a point-and-shoot camera which can do little video clips too).
They are really raw.

Some songs had appeared on the short film that I showed in class.
I just started to work on recording a not-too-low-fi version of each of the songs.
I will post the lyric later.

You can download my music here at Douban:

And my videos are all on Youku:

I am thinking of a band if anyone's interested.

P.S. Dear Steph we should work on them together!

Love,
V

  1. ::sigh:: I love your music, Vivian :) It is such a perfect audio version of your visual style - "beautiful sadness," like Jeff said. Something about your tones reminds me of the light in your videos, too.

Great work Nick. I love the camera's following nature. Your work kept me thinking "how did he do that?!". You really capture a cold feeling, and rather mechanical, to the piece. Probably experimenting with monitors would of served good as well which, as you know, Nauman used in the Public/ Private space installation. R.T
