Great work Nick. I love the camera's following nature. Your work kept me thinking "how did he do that?!". You really capture a cold feeling, and rather mechanical, to the piece. Probably experimenting with monitors would of served good as well which, as you know, Nauman used in the Public/ Private space installation. R.T

Interesting location choice. Did it work well? It looks like you have a close-up of rippling water from this still, in which case the "rock garden" provides an interesting contrast between the idea of zen and...well..uh, life here, with the brick, and the rocks being cemented in place.

ReplyDeleteThe location and image seem a bit heavy handed. I appreciate that you put the menu of the day on there, and there is a certain amount of humor in it.
I think you could have one it with a little more finesse though -

I thought this video was great. If the time had worked out and people could have been walking by I think that people would have definitely chosen to eat somewhere else for dinner.
ReplyDeleteI thought this piece was extremely powerful. I only wish it could have been shown during dinner time so that we could see people's reactions to your piece as they headed to Curtis. Great job.
ReplyDeleteSam this was a creative idea and very powerful. I think that as you said it would have been best to show during dinner time when everyone was walking in but you really took some risks and it turned out good.
