Tyler Installation

  1. I find it really interesting how we all seem to have certain people who keep showing up in our individual videos.

  2. The space here is really great - I love how it offers possibilities of how to interact with an under/un used space. The lines of the stairs and the space in the stairwell work really well as a projection space. The video itself is interesting, but the text inclusion I wonder about. What were you hoping for? It seems a little didactic. Subliminal messages? Is that what you were thinking about?

  3. You had a great location. The tight corridor made for a very intimate space, which contrasted nicely with the cold and distant feeling of your projection. It reminded me of Warhol's Sreen Tests, the more you interact with the space the more unnerving the projections become.

  5. Tyler I didn't get to see your video, but this space and from what I can see of your video it seems to me like one the most interesting utilized areas that I have seen.

  6. You got a really clear picture in the stair well. The video was simple and effective. Great job.

Great work Nick. I love the camera's following nature. Your work kept me thinking "how did he do that?!". You really capture a cold feeling, and rather mechanical, to the piece. Probably experimenting with monitors would of served good as well which, as you know, Nauman used in the Public/ Private space installation. R.T
