Great work Nick. I love the camera's following nature. Your work kept me thinking "how did he do that?!". You really capture a cold feeling, and rather mechanical, to the piece. Probably experimenting with monitors would of served good as well which, as you know, Nauman used in the Public/ Private space installation. R.T

Good Tyler, you completed the technical exercise! I am not saying Lil Wayne adds to the piece necessarily, but I do think it could become its own piece. Identity dissolution of stars, malleable identity creation, etc...

ReplyDeleteI definitely agree that it is not very effective in adding to the piece. While completely the process I realized that creating a piece using the technique and refining the technique that I worked on would be very interesting especially using lil wayne as a subject. I think that I could use the technique with live video of wayne to create a piece that deals with celebrity as this untouchable or god like entity. I think it would be especially interesting to change wayne's identity or distort his identity because he recently released an ep entitle " I am not a human being.' Also I think that comparing or creating wayne as a holy or spiritual figure could be interesting given his background with drugs and violence.
