Great installation Ross, really works well to have the buildings mimic each other. Love the overlay of old and new. The paths are effective, and the scale of the people makes it more abstract. Sheilah
Ross, this piece really reminds me of the projections on public buildings that we saw in class. The space around and the projection combined very beautifully to create a piece that is unforgettable.
This was probably my favorite one. Not only was it enjoyable to see the old footage, but the technical aspect of how you lined it up was very well done and effective. -Nick
This piece was insane. From the ghostly projections of Denison's past on the sidewalk to the way the video matched up seamlessly with Doane, breathtaking. I almost wish that it would have been done on a larger scale. Having each of the buildings on Denison's campus being projected on merging the past with the present. Great idea and wonderful execution.
Ross this was awesome work. When you first show me this I would have never thought about installing that where it originally took place. It was like you put us in a time machine, there was an interesting connection that I felt with those graduates and standing in the place where they walk to receive their degree. Great piece. -Charles
Really liked what you did and the footage was awesome. I would love to see this maybe done on other parts of the Denison Campus. Does your Dad have anymore footage of Denison back in the "old" days?
This was so cool man, i was very impressed. great idea. Its cool seeing the contrast between now and then. some different some the same. One thing you might have tried though is distorting the video in final cut so when it was projected it wouldnt get that stretched look, but that might be unavoidable. great work.
Great work Nick. I love the camera's following nature. Your work kept me thinking "how did he do that?!". You really capture a cold feeling, and rather mechanical, to the piece. Probably experimenting with monitors would of served good as well which, as you know, Nauman used in the Public/ Private space installation. R.T
Projected on the window of knapp? VERY cool. I like how you correlated the paths.
