Gabe Installation

  1. Interesting! I've seen body parts projected on buildings and such, but the idea of just labeling instead of depicting is pretty cool!

  2. I liked this piece because you were projecting a face and I thought it was cool that the building had its own mouth and completed the face with two eyes.(the windows)

  3. Gabe, love the idea of making the building into the body. As per Nicholas Wrdysko's work. However, I would have liked to see it on the other building, just so that there wouldn't have been as many things breaking up the projection. Also like that you used yourself - although maybe you could have focused even closer on the mouth. There was something slightly grotesque (vito acconci) - could have capitalized on that. Title a bit confusing.

  4. I think this could have benefited from having projections on multiple buildings as well, or maybe lining up the eyes with the second story windows and the mouth with the first story window, but overall it's a good idea and execution.

  5. Gabe, I thought it was interesting how you anthropomorphised the cinema building, however I almost wish that there was no sound to the video and we just saw this ghostly projection of a mouth on a house. Great idea and very well executed.

  6. Gabe, the environment you chose complemented well with your video. I found that your intention was to bring to life the building that you were projecting on. The building transformed from a static, emotionless state to one of energy and human emotion.

    Nice work.

Great work Nick. I love the camera's following nature. Your work kept me thinking "how did he do that?!". You really capture a cold feeling, and rather mechanical, to the piece. Probably experimenting with monitors would of served good as well which, as you know, Nauman used in the Public/ Private space installation. R.T
